Blade Runner 2099
I’m a huge fan of the Blade Runner universe. When I first saw the movie, I didn’t understand what science fiction film noir even was. I just loved the aesthetic.
And the flying cars.
Amazon Prime just dropped a new trailer for a new TV show, and I’m cautiously optimistic.
Blade Runner 2099 might wind up being boring, or confusing, or any number of things. However, based on the trailer, it will look good and stay true to the massive dystopian vision of both Ridley Scott’s original film and Denis Villeneuve’s sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
Here is the series’ official synopsis:
Fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora, a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant days from dying, she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse a fragile city.
